The Banyans Medical Centre and Specialist Clinics are excited to announce the availability of a new innovative therapy for people suffering from treatment resistant depression. This therapy has been approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and offers hope for individuals who have not responded to other forms of treatment.

Innovative non-invasive nasal spray

The therapy is delivered via a nasal spray, which has been found to be effective in the treatment of depression. It works by targeting a specific receptor in the brain, which is believed to be involved in the regulation of mood.

Eligible patients will receive a customised treatment plan

Our team of experienced Psychiatrists and trained nurses will supervise the administration of the nasal spray at our Certified Treatment Clinic.

• Induction Phase – patients receive the nasal spray twice per week for 4 weeks
• Optimisation Phase – patients receive the nasal spray once per week for 4 weeks.
• Maintenance Phase – commencing in week 9, our specialist staff will customise dosage according to an individual’s response.  This will result in ongoing weekly or fortnightly treatment sessions.
